    2a front hub bearings help

it must be something like that, as the shaft end can be seen lining up with the hub as it should, so the only thing out of place is the drum. adjust the brakes and give it a whack or tighten a wheel nut right on.

1975 series 3 rebuild ongoing (lots of photos)

the reviews suggest this kind of gun is really for spot jobs, not 5 wheel rims at once. Also looks messy to do in a home environment. My compressor at the moment is pretty high spec, but it's on long term loan from a friend so might not be worth buying more airtools and then losing the...

1975 series 3 rebuild ongoing (lots of photos)

thanks, that's very helpful. I'm trying to workout how much i can find to have done at once, to keep the cost down. The other thing is sandblasting, i got some quotes from a local place last year for my bulkhead, which were reasonable, but i've been considering doing it myself since i have...

Can anyone advise on galvanising? i have a spare windscreen frame that want to have galvanised, and if i'm doing that i'm going to gather a pile of other things to have done too, small steel parts etc I'm trying to gather a cheap set of cappings and maybe a radiator panel too, plus whatever...

A couple more little jobs done today I stripped a steering rod down, i didn't take a before, but you can see in this old photo the condition was pretty mucky. I've left the other one on for now. I'll buy some new trackrod ends soon. Lots of wirebrushing and painting done, Red oxide...

1975 series 3 rebuild ongoing (lots of photos)

ok, a few small jobs today. I took the old bump stops off, which took a lot of precarious grinding angles. i brushed and rubbed the metal down and painted under the old ones. And then bolted brand new bearmach ones on i squeezed a big blob of grease between them just to stop them seizing...

I've finished playing with my balls, I spent a cold few hours on the drive yesterday fiddling with them. As i said earlier i have only done the one side, as a took it apart to assess the damage and figured i would replace it now. However i haven't had the cash to buy the other ball yet, so...

cheers, i know what you mean about deterioration, there's a little bit of rusty run off coming from the hinges, these things can come on so quick. I have a seal but haven't fitted it yet, as i imagined i would have finished those jobs quicker than i have done. I've got another screen lined...

    X-eng disc brake

i'd love to see a photo of it fitted. Not sure if its justifiable for everyday use, but i understand they're good if you're in water and off road a lot.

Got the first bit of work done for the new year. I got a chrome swivel ball for Christmas, so I've started work on refitting the whole assembly. New ball looks lovely the pin housing was a difficult fit the old kingpin works well as a drift Fitted the bearing housing too. quick test...

Giving an old S3 army girl a new lease of life

definetly get this type of riveter for putting them back on the hand rivet type is going to destroy your hands and make you swear or if you have a compressor you could get an air riveter

    Rocky Mountain

quality wise i can't actually compare with anything else and i haven't finished the project, but i think the springs are pretty well made. and the service was very good from rocky mountain. I like the idea of the door tops, but i bought ****part steel ones and painted them for less than £70...
