    2.5 ton paperweight??

Today I removed all the seats, main carpet & sill- plates etc. all dry, dis-connected the BeCM, checked it all over, seemed ok, nothing obvious as well, loosely refitted & re-connected all the wiring/plugs etc. This time it DID accept the key-code, no engine disabled indicated, turned key &...

    2.5 ton paperweight??

Just remembered, today I removed the fusebox, removed the circuit.-board, cut the links, opened up the mainboard to inspect. The whole thing is like new, clean, dry, no corrosion or burning at all, so closed it up, re-soldered the pins, reinstalled relays & fuses & connected it all back, so at...

    2.5 ton paperweight??

Brand new battery, pressing the keyfob has absolutely no effect to any of the locks, but the key will manually lock & unlock driver door only. Today I managed to prize off the top-inner rubber trim from the passenger door & looked down at the lock through the gap, ALL the rods are connected to...

    2.5 ton paperweight??

Hello again boys & girls, I was on this forum many, many years ago when I had my lovely '95 DSE, loved it to bits & regretted selling it EVERYTHING was 100%!! Anyroadup, after several more cars, I pined for another to 'play' with, still got 10 bikes I restored, fed up with them so I found a...

    Self locking?

Well I hooked it up to the Rovacom & it came up all clear with no faults in the memory, so it strikes me that it may be an indicator of a possible 'degrading' problem, something like a slightly corroding connection somewhere thereby 'triggering' or 'spiking' the very sensitive ecu monitoring...

    Self locking?

Whats with the sarcasm, when I joined this forum (a few years before you I might add ) it was friendly & helpful, I don't think this forum benefits from know-it-alls, I had a respectful request & therefore expected a likewise reply, I even said 'thanks' at the end, obviously waisted on you...

    Self locking?

Hi peeps, haven't been on for a while as everythings been working ok!! So, a few days ago whilst driving, 'click' the central locking kicked-in, all locked, I assumed i'd somehow 'elbowed' it & locked it, so I unlocked by lifting the push-button, all seemed ok, then, 5mins later, it...

    Mystery fluid teaser

Petrol or diesel?? I had a similar oily-goo on one of my pipes, it turned out to be a leakage from the intercooler pipe for the turbo, just required the pipes & cooler degreasing & a good 'swill' out.

    Good 'ol leckkie again

Well after 3 problem free years I had a bit of a shock! '96 P38 2.5 DSE Used to get the flat battery problems, a couple of days non-use & she was dead. Did the usual, upgraded the RF reciever, checked for BECM going to sleep etc. Ended up fitting a 1000 ah cold-crank battery & no more probs...

    Dashboard

I think its an 'age' thing, mine USED to be ok, but it too has deformed by the vent, sort of 'popped' up, I can push it down but it just comes back up again:mad: Its almost as if its somehow expanded (heat?) & has no where to go but 'up'. Can't think of a fix either.

    P38 Diesel battery

I changed my 2.5 DSE battery about 3 years ago, & STILL it kept going flat after a week or so, did the lot, RF reciever, etc.etc. took it to be tested & it showed all good, finally bit the bullet 18 months ago & bought the biggest-baddest basted I could lay my hands on, a 1000cca THOUSAND...

2.5DSE (BMW) with bad diesel consumption

Wow fellas, glad I bought the manual jobbie, had my '96 DSE for over 8 years now, & its ALWAYS given me over 30 mpg. oil, filters (oil & fuel ) changed every year, 137k never had the head off from new etc. Sure, its sluggish compared to the V8s, but it'll break the speed-limit & I've been...

    Hawkeye...Have you got one?

I've been looking at these for some time, but have some reservations, you see, I already have a Rovacom-lite, & its fine, only trouble (for me ) is that I have to cobble it all together in the cab, laptop, cables, modules, etc. etc, then place it somewhere so's not to knock it over, sit on it...

    P38 Aftermarket Grill

Got this off e-bay a couple of years ago for £30.00, a bit of 'messin about' & stuck it on, still have the perfect original one should I wish to change it back, only did it to be 'different' & something to do!! Sad or what.

    Roof Lining Fix

I do hope that you're going to remove the original foam backing, as thats the reason it failed in the first place, the foam decomposes with age & starts to 'crumble' to dust, then the adheision fails, you will be glueing new stuff to old, crumbling stuff. The old stuff MUST be removed first, (a...
