    Re-assurance needed please

It had the snorkle, winch (which you can't see inthe pic :D) and high level lights when I got it, I think its got a bit of a lift but no more than 2". I fitted high level breathers to the diffs, gearbox and transferbox and timing belt case. Apart from that its standard.

    Help with colour please

Yep its blue. If you want to know which blue I'd take it to your friendly local specialist automotive bodywork suppliers and ask them, or it might give you a clue in the touch up paint listing in Halfords. Kev

Thats a nice 200, my one is in the pic. After it came out of that water the only thing that stopped working was the aftermarket radio which, to be fair had been under water, they are great vehicles

    Diagnostic tools

Afternoon all, I am considering buying a diagnostic tool and I'm wondering if any of you have any experience of using the Snap On Solus Pro or Ultra on Land Rover products in general and Discovery one and two in particular, and how it stacks up against the specialist Land Rover tools. Kev

    Discovery 300tdi MOT Due

I'm pretty sure ally can't be welded to steel, so that might not work

    Usefull bits to buy.

As its a 1/2" drive anything less than 13mm would most likely be too small and snap the bolt. Remember to only use black impact sockets, others will shatter sooner or later, by the time you have bought seperate sockets you may as well get a set and just add the 27mm.

    learning to weld

MIG for anything on a and Land Rover except perhaps very heavy chasis stuff and well worth getting an auto darkening helmet, the Clarke machines are good entry level tools, also consider buying gauntlets to save burning fingers and an angle grinder to clean up the metal before welding. Good luck

I had the same thing on a 200 towing a heavy trailer, my own fault, I should have cleaned the rad out after wading. So start by cleaning out the fins, if the stat is ok maybe the water pump?. Good Luck Kev
