is it a drill????????????

no i meant various sockets extension bars etc, bad choice of words
(tired) can you buy a "knuckle" for these guns or would that just break?

Tbh im not really sure about how much i could use it and if it would actually be worth me having it as its quite expensive, so im trying to see how much would be the minimum amount I would have to spend on "bits" :) (im only buying it to pretty much work on my Disco)

Im thinking of fitting a complete polybush kit to my disco and feel maybe it could be worth it afterall.

For some jobs a rattle gun is really useful but don't expect to use it for everything. A UJ is really a no-no, if the socket slips off the nut, which it will with a UJ, it will then go flying about at a high rate of knots and break something else or you.

For basic stuff to start with then 7/16 and 9/16 are useful 'Landrover sizes' too .. but mostly normal ring/open end combo spanners or standard ratchet sockets are OK for the bolts/nuts that need them .. 1/2" 12 point socket for caliper bolts (found that out this weekend, thanks TimE, I used 13mm beforehand!) 52mm socket or hub not box spanner for changing wheel bearings.

A decent length pry bar is _very_ useful, for all sorts of stuff, large and small, not least helping to lift wheels back on!

A test meter for electrics can also be good.

As its a 1/2" drive anything less than 13mm would most likely be too small and snap the bolt. Remember to only use black impact sockets, others will shatter sooner or later, by the time you have bought seperate sockets you may as well get a set and just add the 27mm.

Everything(apart from prop bolts ) are metric

27 definately, 17,19 13 will all get you by for now

I was removing side steps from my D1 today as part of a strip down for a re-spray and had to break out a 9/16 spanner and socket for the 4 body to chassis mounts that have the side step brackets attached.

Thought that was a bit odd as I'd used nothing but metric tools to strip out the interior! Strange that they were still using up imperial fastenings in '96!
