    Dipstick oil level

If the vehicle is level and the dip stick is secure in the tube, and the tube secure in the block then fill to the correct amount 5-6 litres or whatever and cut a mark on your stick with a hacksaw. could be wrong dip stick.

How to fit 200TDi rear crank oil seal?

Thats the way I get seals out aswel, great method, one last point give the crank a clean up with wet and dry to make sure there aint any rags on it to tear the seal and pack the back of the seal with grease to give it a little bit of lube as it starts up for the first few minutes. A little...

    rotor filter

If its the same as the one on the trucks, we call them spinners, they are turned by oil pressure. On the bottom of the inner unit are two jets which spray oil at pressure against the side of the outer casing like two little thrusters, the inner unit which holds these jets sits on a spindle...

    New Radiator

I always go to a radiator repair/recondition mob, they can either repair with a new core etc or give one off the shelf reconditioned with a guarantee. Dont know why you allowed them to charge you so much if it was advertised at half that, where's yur balls. In reference to the td4 bit I...

help please car cut out an wont start

Being an optimist, whats the chance that the alternator feeds the ignition and that one of the wires has broke. Failing that timing belt broke, you would see that if you take the filler cap off the rocker cover and spin the engine over, the cam wont be turning. is it getting petrol to the...

    Hazard lights failed the MOT

The bulb makes no difference other than it needs a tell tale for mot, looks like you have lost the live feed, blown fuse or sumat. Did you put the 90 bits in the 110 and see if they work. A word of warning tho when working on electrics like this, specifically when swapping bits, lift the...

    Another chassis question . . or 2!!

My advice is to take a hammer to the chassis, dont go mad tho but no point starting to plate it to find the bit next to it is paper thin and you burn through. Welding takes time even with a mig and an hour is gone before you know it, any parts you can replace with new ones is always better than...

    high pitched squeaking!!!! Aggghhhhh!!!

How much Waxoyl for my 90???

I think the engine areas are kept good by heat and protection from direct contact with the elements, they are usually coated in all sorts horrible stuff. Spraying good oil on the other areas would do the same thing, they do that with sheet metal, however you need to protect it from washing off...

disco 1 300 tdi faulty brakes ( help needed)

With the brakes exhausted keeping your foot on the hard brake pedal, start the engine and it almost instantly starts to fall to the floor. If you are having to rev the engine up to get vacuum then I guess its fooked. Tested trillions in the mot test and yet to find one that takes any time to...
