I had been informed that cruise control will never engage if the abs has a fault on it, I may be wrong but after sorting my offside abs sensor my abs light went out and I could then use cruise control. I just can't see this as a coincidence and stand by what I was told.

I'd check the vacuum pipe and then the abs bulb first or if you can get a diagnostic kit from someone it will tell you if there is a fault on the abs sensors on the hubs, but this should show with the abs light being on in the instrument panel.

It's on the offside front wing, black rubber pipe connecting to black plunger type thing. Follow the pipe back to make sure it's all connected, also it could be the brake pedal switch that is faulty.

Is you abs light on if not check vacuum as instructed, if that's fine check your abs bulb is plugged in, I had mine for a year without knowing it had an abs fault because the bstard seller just unplugged the bulb.

Yes that's right, and that why they put the caution/warning bit on the lid so you don't burn your eyes out when opening it after a run.And That's why it is called an expansion tank so you don't blow your pipes and the head because of the pressure.

Why go to the effort of diff guards and snorkel etc if it's never been off road?. All I have at the moment are BFG's and even I have found a couple of easy going lanes to take the kids on.

Did mine yesterday, all I did was tip a bit of fresh diesel in the new filter before fitting and everything is ok, I've just done a 30 mile round trip without any problems so you should be ok.

All done. A squirt of Debloc the night before on the Allen bolts and a second this morning just before removing the erg worked a treat, intercooler taken out and cleaned along with new filters and oils all round and I am a very happy boy with the result. I can feel the difference straight away...

Sorry you replied as I was typing so I didn't see it, how would I go about dealing with that?, I presume that's the part by n/s light in front of the air box that the vacuum pipe goes to.

Thank you, I have ordered the plate and it comes with the new pipe, now as for blanking the vacuum will a bolt do or should I use something like silicon to get a 100% seal. I won't be using the disco until Sunday so if I did it tonight the silicon would have plenty of time to dry.

I used a 4ft bar. Take the end cap off slide the bar through the hole a lodge it against something solid and pull. Might had a nudge against a bollard and broke the light washer and the bumper pushed in so only half of the hole was visible but I managed to put that right.

Could it be you need to do the key in door lock/unlock sequence? Do you have the original door security code that comes with the veichle when new?

Ok I'll get my fabric ordered up and get it done, I'll post some pics once I've sorted it so people can see.
