aha! managed to get a photo, typical its not in focus!! but you get the idea, its the stub of the bolt i need to remove
That's a good idea.. though I'll likely end up with a hole in the outer wing.. or maybe the fuel tankcut it off flush the drill using a small bit first slowly increasing in size
if you hit the fuel tank your way off target, if you make it too big you can always fit a riv nutThat's a good idea.. though I'll likely end up with a hole in the outer wing.. or maybe the fuel tank

Length of metal with a suitable hole in it or a big nut, MIG that onto the remains of the bolt as a plug weld, then undo. The weld heat should be localised but also help to free the bolt.Buggrit
Come to replace the lower tailgate straps, left hand one, easy.. ish.. right hand one.. comes off the tailgate easy.. the one into the body, bolt head comes off with ease!!
Now I'm left with the bolt stub that won't budge.
Any ideas? Normally heat would be the option but that's going to do paint damage.. left wd40 to speak in over night see what happens tomorrow.. will add some ATF as well
That gas strut is a damper for lower tailgate when opening it so it doesnt just drop. Also, is the gas strut supposed to be sorting like for the upper tailgate, or is it supposed to act as a damper? I can push it both ways and it stays in position
Don't think mine works thenThat gas strut is a damper for lower tailgate when opening it so it doesnt just drop.
WD40 is a waste of time, Plus Gas or ATF needed. +1 to MIG welding a nut on.Don't think mine works then
i've put some atf/diesel on.. while it doesnt mix as such, it does help as a carrierWD40 is a waste of time, Plus Gas or ATF needed. +1 to MIG welding a nut on.

Down it goes then, I've got a skinny one that should slip in all the way to it meets resistance from the bottomThe gadget I've got you thread the pipe down into the sump.
