Thanks @Karlos the jackal I have got one.

On another note diesel is dripping from FIP taper inside shaft seal so assume this is not an easy fix if the seal on FIP shaft built in not easy to change?

Thanks

Normally it drips from the top and middle seals. The kit normally has both and the side ones under the little ovals.

Not got time to remove the chains etc but leak is coming from front seal. Have attached a photo of one from ebay which shows front seal on shaft where leak is coming from?

Does pump need to come apart to change front and inner seals please?

If so where best place to buy seals?
Thanks

Sorry, never changed that one. Wammers would know.

Ok mate hi @wammers could you advise please?

Stripping a pump down is not a good idea unless you really know what you are doing. Front seal maybe able to be taken out with shaft in place, if you very carefully drill two small holes opposite each other about 1/8" from the outer edge and put in a couple of short course self tappers, use the heads to lever against gradually side to side. Shaft MUST NOT be damaged. Wash and blow out before refitting new seal. Seal to top section is no problem, for pressure head O'ring a specific method MUST be used to avoid dropping piston spacer. Mid seal is the one you will struggle with as if the mid section is replaced even a very small amount out of position it effects the calibrated fuel start point.

The alternative is a refurbed 994 pump from Diesel Jones down Nuttall Street in Manchester. Talking about £650. But if you've done 150k and the rest of the engine you might as well go for it.

Thanks @wammers I agree no way I would contemplate touching this, I had a feeling it might be one of the internal seals breaching front seal. Might see about getting recon pump and change front seal see if makes difference as this pump is 180k miles old. So is it worth just getting a recon one?

Would have to save up for it but like @Grrrrrr says whilst done most of engine.

Thanks @Grrrrrr I was so bloody close to finishing the engine now this has come up kicked me in the nuts literally :(

I would not pay that much for a used unit with no guarantee, it's not that much cheaper than a recon unit.

Only said it was a bit cheaper, depends on how his funds are, personally i would go for a recon one direct with full warranty.
