They all had these numbers. I suppose it should be possible to look them up to find out.

I cleaned up the air pipe turbo to intercooler, which is galvanised and painted it as the oil sump pan, also fitted a set of Blue Silicone Intercooler Hose Kit which looks a bit posh.
The intercooler fins was a bit of a mess, previous crud from the now blanked EGR had left deposits of carbon and sooty build up inside everything. I'm Shure this device fitted to everything destroys an engines ability to breath, especially if it's direct injection.
I got a new intercooler which was not full width but does have a slightly bigger airflow, but mostly because I could never repair the corroded and damaged fins. So it could never perform as well as a new one.

It's made by a company called Gravity model GV0 801 was a straight fit with a little pushing and pulling, and was an easy fit.
I didn't want the full with intercooler covering part of the radiator, although I think they will cool the air a bit more increasing boost and no doubt power. But I want a reliable tractor lol. Not one that overheats!
With other small things replaced such as the oil filler cap rubber seal, which when I removed it, was beginning to crack if I bent it over.

But everything just came together nicely from here on.new copper seals for the fuel rails and injectors. Everything torqued down as specified in the big book apart from the sump as it's on a compound gasket, which may leak but we'll see.
 
Someone posted on this forum that they fitted a gas flow head from turners I think and one of their comments was that the sound levels at idle seemed a lot quieter or less tractor like

I once came across a chap who had fitted an intercooler from a bigger engined vehicle a Renge Rover or summit.
He reckoned it boosted both power and economy. Well he would say that woudln't he.
But the standard intercooler has long been seen as not much cop and a bit of an achilles heel.
Maybe one day I'll be able to get to my 300tdi and do something about mine rather than just cleaning it.

I'm Shure a bigger intercooler would push some more power, but the one I got is suppose to have more flow and cooling fins so it certainly does no harm. The old one was not worth cleaning out because the fins would never be good

It's aboot the same old truck sound wasn't loud before and I was still able to sell the head,valves and guides being pretty good.
But a steep hill coming up to Midmar from my woods required second gear before, even my Subaru XV turbodiesel requires 2nd gear to get and keep going before being able to get into 3rd gear.
But I can drive up in 3rd gear now all the the way. So there must've more low down torque.
 
Well having driven over a hundred miles found I was overheating as speed and on big long hills!
After some head scratching figured the viscose fan coupling wasn't doing its thing.

The bimetallic part is working, so I can only assume there is a lack of silicone fluid inside.
When the bimetallic strip looking like a spring gets to the set temperature it causes a valve to open allowing the silicone fluid to escape by centrifugal force outwardly I to the chamber with the internal fins. This causes the fan to be almost completely driven and keeps things cool, but apparently it's only needed for 10 to 15 % of the time .
I got an old stock 'original' one online .

But I managed to return it and tried putting bolts drilled and tapped through the whole unit to permanently lock it, and refitting to be Shure this was the cause. Also I was waiting for another new one to arrive, but I had to know this was the cause as it's difficult to check the viscose fan coupling.
The failed new one just spun freely when I stopped to check with a pretty hot motor. So I knew it was also lacking fluid.
This was a success 😂

I was able to accelerate up to full speed up a steep hill on the duel carriageway and the temp went up very fast, then no further. It also cooled faster.
The new new part arrived and took only 15 mins to fit

It's all working great now and I've driven over 300 miles.😊

Well done! You must be getting a lot more power out of your engine than I did from my standard one. I took my fan off completely and fitted an electric one. which I have only ever had to switch on twice. Even in baking heat in Southwest France. The aircon fans kinda do the biz, did have to switch it one when stuck in traffic in such heat, but went off once back moving again. Carry it around as a spare of course!

Lol, she does seem fine for power, goes straight to her length in mph, but only did that once to try to get her to overheat, and on a slight incline. People ordinary cars were looking at me strangely as we zipped past them.
But no smoke, apart from a wee puff at startup for a second, and had more to give.
I trundle about at 47 most of the time, which is great for looking over hedges and taking in the beauty of Aberdeenshire. Dogs find her comfy too.

I suppose the 90 Pick-up will be lighter than other body types, but she's just great fun to drive, and no problem with short journeys blocking dpf's and the like.
I wonder if I can drive her in lezz zones if running on 0 emissions fuel like bio diesel though?
That's what folk with huge cranes are doing in the lez zones according to the news!

My bad, should have said mine's a Disco. But your dogs look very happy as do ours when clipped in just liek yours, on the back seat. When packing for a journey we have to put them in first as they make such a fuss!
I have heard that bio fuels i.e. cleaned up cooking oil, doesn't harm them, much, as it has the right sort of injection pump, but others would have to verify that. To get the Free LEZ card you'd have to change the fuel type on you V5c.

Know nowt much about biodiesel.
