After many years of thinking about making a wheel thread. I've decided to start it.

So here's the first wheel. It's the most common fitment style but comes is a few different dimensions and part numbers. Not all part numbers fit both brake types. The factory tyre size and alternative tyre sizes will be included here too.

Information as follows.
Name: Freedom
Year MY05
Pt No RRC002960XXX
6.0JX16 H2
ET46.0 or ET48.0. I have both with the same PN.:confused:
E•DOT
MADE IN HUNGARY.
This part number will fit all Freelander 1 including the post MY2000 with vented discs.
It doesn't have the dimples between the fixing holes.

There is an early Freedom wheel, which was fitted to solid brake disc vehicles.

Information.

Offset ET36/8
Made in Italy.
Fitted on solid disc models, up to 2001MY.
This wheel doesn't fit vented disc models, front or back, as the offset is wrong.

Tyres all Freedom wheels are.

Factory fit: 215/65/16.
Alternatives: 215/70/16, 225/65/16, 235/65/16. The maximum width on this wheel is a 235. profile needs working out, to keep diameter to around 29"

good idea I will follow this thread with great interest, how could we other members help out, ie photo of wheel what is stamped inside ect Arctic2

That's exactly the sort of help needed.;)
All the wheels have the PN and size cast into the rear of the spokes. A decent picture of the front face would be beneficial, if it looks different to other PNs.
There were several manufacturers used over the years. So the wheels could look slightly different when compared side by side.
 
I put a few details of the 17" Triple Sport wheels with their part numbers in another thread Nodge - and I should be able to get similar information of the 16" Triple Sport wheels as I am changing the tyres this weekend :)
 
Freelander 17" Triple Sport wheels. Unfortunately, what I do not have are the offsets of the two wheels, or the casting mark information - but the two part numbers I have found are as follows (the "simple dimple rule" applies - wheels compatible with the later cars have dimples (or even drilled through) between the wheel stud holes - presumably making it easier for the garage boys to find and fit the right wheels to the right cars! :)

Some manufacturers put there makers mark on the wheel and some don't. This can also be used for identification I believe.
No maker's mark.

True. The FL1 speedometer is basically calibrated 10% fast.
Quite handy as larger tyres can be fitted without fear of making the speedometer illegal.

I notice on Microcat some alloy wheels have part numbers specific to 2006 Model Year, wonder if this is due to the higher GVW of the Td4 and V6.
The drivers handbook states that 15" wheels are only fitted to the 1.8 with the normal GVW.

My 55reg left the factory on 15" steel wheels.

Made in Hungary.

I believe this wheel was released after the MY 2000 update, so should fit all FL1s without spacers.

Alternative sizes are: 225/60/17 (pictured), 225/65/17, 235/55/17, 235/60/17 and possibly 235/65/17. Max width is 235 and profile needs to be selected to keep overall diameter to under 29".
