Does anyone know when the timing chain should be changed ?
True, and my pre 2000 one has outlasted a lot of post 2000 ones178000 on mine. Very reliable, never let me down. Not rattly and worn at all like some cars get with age and mileage. Not burning oil either. No rust. I think the post 2000 Freelanders were really tough cars and will outlast a lot of what is on the road today.
Thanks m8 much appreciatedThere's no change interval for the timing chain. The crankshaft more likely to break before the timing chain.
Thanks m8 i love mine so looking forward to many more miles. Just fitted a new PAS pump which has helped with the steering I can now cancel my gym membership !!200k plus miles on my 2002 TD4.
Had it since new, do regular oil and filter changes.
The only issue with the engine has been water pumps, now on it's third! OK, I think the cheap second one didn't help!
Hoping for another 200k.......
