stripped out my rollbar ready to de-rust it and repaint it. Its 90% good apart from the bottom of the mounts which are rusted.

Also removed door tops to check the integrity of the doors, they are all ok. might leave the door tops off though in the hopes of warm weather!

Picked up a tatty pair o cheap buckets for me 90

Given up, going to finish the jobs I have already got the bits to do.

Then going to find a local garage that does Landys

Did what I thought was prelimary fault-find on engine failing to warm up, fully expecting to be ordering a new stat at the end of it (TD5 disco - needle stays at 1/3, rarely getting to 1/2 like it's suppsed to)

Checked ECT sensor resitance with multimeter, all within spec. Checked for continuity and shorts between ECU and sensor, all good. Oh well, must be thetmostat then, but then on the next run she warms up to 1/2 within 5 miles, just like old times.

Conclusion: must've been a little bit of resistance in one or the other of the loom connections that got fixed by unplug and reconnect. Either that or failing wiring - we shall see

ran out of derv in the td5 thought it was going to be a right pain to get going but primed it and started first couple of cranks happy days :)

Checked all levels under the bonnet and topped up as needed, since I've been working shifts in work I've barely used the land rover because I've been sharing a lift, makes a difference

Finally sorted out what was squeaking after changing the timing belt, tensioner and a variety of seals and gaskets, yippee!

Thanks to the amazing researched capabilities of Mr Freelaner!
