New front shocks fitted - had a bit of a result in that I managed to replace them without taking the shock turrets off! The hd turrets have enough space to get the shock through - a very good thing as the turrets are a pig to get in and out!
 
After I replaced the transmission brake shoes & adjuster mechanism in March with S$#*part items & adjusted the hand brake to 3 clicks. After a mile or so the handbrake lever touch the roof lining again so I re-adjusted it & the same happened so I replaced the adjuster mechanism with a genuine part, on the pictures you can see the difference in where the thread lock is applied, Sh*$tpart near the end of the thread, genuine nearer the bolt head & more of it, you can see how far the adjuster sticks through rendering the B P adjuster useless ! So beware.

I have had an all to similar experience with the very same brand. I'll put adding some more thread lock and see how it goes to my list of jobs.
 
I replace the fuel pipe from lift pump to filter as it had rubbed against a wire and pin holed itself. The smell of diesel after a spot of duel carriageway driving alerted me to it and following the trickle diesel pin pointed the problem. Gotta love it when it's an easy fix.
 
Swore many times at it.

On the way back from from a trip out this afternoon, the over temp light came on and the temp gauge dropped to the bottom along with a definite loss of power, almost a limp mode. I managed to get a lay-by and turned the engine off, got out and had a quick shufty around it to see if there were any leaks but there weren't.

Got back in and started the engine again, no faults, no errors and it drove perfectly fine for another 20miles back home.

Just connected the Nanocom to it and it has a High Speed Crank fault. I wouldn't mind, but I don't rev the nuts out of the engine and rarely go over 3k. :rolleyes:
 
Finally Replaced the front radius arms after having them in the garage for over a year! And got the lights fitted to the bumper- looks a bit better!

Pumped up the tyres and with a direct feed from the battery to the underseat fuse managed to get the seat in an upright position and closer to the pedals.
Then went and filled up the tank (£90.93 EEEEK!) ready for a trip to Malvern for the autojumble tomorrow.
First trip out after getting the headgasket fixed in March.
It was done by Rocky at 4W Motors, Earlswood, Foreshaw Heath Road
Solihull.
He gets my vote for a job well done!
 
Had a busy afternoon so far. Starting with replacing the feed and return fuel lines and bypassing the sedimenter as clearly full of holes. Also stripped the drivers side swivel ball to find its been replaced already with a Teflon coated 1. Also replaced the stub axle as its properly pitted and worn. I'll do the bearings after the kids are in bed and it's not so hot. I also noticed the track rod ball joint boot is looking perished, that's something to add to the repair soon list. For once I fixed and replaced more faults than I added to the list.

Fair play to ya, I changed my inj. loom today & I don't think then eng. had cooled down from yesterday ! I think I'll postpone any non urgent work for now until it's:cool:er

I've been waiting for dry weather to coincide with me not being too busy for weeks. I've had quite a productive day and have 4 wheels on my wagon again. Next job on the list is remove the front propshaft to confirm that is what's causing the vibration and noise. Pretty sure it is the culprit. It's definitely cider o'clock right now.

Dry weather is one thing (as I have to work outside on my drive) but when it's so hot you can't pick ya spandanglies up if they've been in the sun for 10 mins. is another ! Enjoy that cider I was doing Thatchers Gold yesterday.

I also have to do all my repairs outside on the drive way. My only saving grace today was my disco was facing the right way for me to be working in its shadow.

hope ur good, indeed know where ur coming from , must admit found using the gazebo so handy in the sunshine as well as the rain to keep the sun off , particularly from the back of ur neck getting really burnt , plse don’t ask how I know before using a gazebo , lol

plus the perils of owning a black car when drinking a cup of tea then casually resting my hand on the bonnet when it’s been in full sun all afternoon @&@@&#*#*/##*@)

ref cider , have u tried some of the blackcurrent ones, must admit some aren’t too bad
