Got my new Disco 2, 2004 on Saturday.
Drove it 15 miles home then when I parked it up on the drive it decided to throw coolant all over the floor.
Didn't move on the temp gauge so all good there.

Found it was a small plug on the back of a pump under the turbo, it was really old and failed.

So I fitted a piece of pipe with a blanking plug on.

Aloso T Cut and polished my headlights as they were very cloudy, now bright and shiiiney

Got a bit more “off road” than planned - now have an engine bay full of muddy water and an air box full of the same!! Might be time for that snorkel :D

Having a ball ache with the power steering pump. I replaced the original last June with a pattern part, lasted about 75 miles before it stopped assisting (no leaks externally) so got a re-conned LR pump which I fitted Friday & has started leaking after 20 miles, I've had the reservoir off twice to clean it just in case & new fluid both times ACE& power steering! Beginning to think this things jinxed :(

(Saturday) Fitted a new gearstick gaiter as the other one had the next pandemic growing on it
Also got the handbrake one too as it's in the same condition.
Fitting that on Saturday coming, will also clean the center console of all the biscuit crumbs and sweet wrappers from the previous owners (scruffs)

I will be removing the near side bumper end cap as it's smashed so will be rebuilding it with fiberglass and flexible filler.
Plenty for me to be doing :D

Got some good rain today to test out my overuse of Capt Tolley’s around the windscreen top seal.
Success!!! No leaks!!
Just checked mine for it's passenger footwell leak & despite rain overnight & all morning thus far nothing:). As its not meant to stop until about 04.00 tomorrow I'll be keeping everything crossed & hope that my PG tips tea bag D2 is waterproof for a while yet. So glad I got that Captain Tolley's. ( I used a hypodermic syringe for hard to reach bits).

It’s amazing stuff. Far better than the silicone that I used around the rear sunroof that failed spectacularly today!!
Need the rain to stop so i can get the silicone gun out again - I don’t have the energy to remove the lining and sunroof and fix it properly

Yeah, taking the lining out is a pain but once out removing the sunroofs & resealing them is very straight forward. I'll second you on how good the Capt. Tolley's is I was getting a bit frustrated as to where the footwell leak was coming from but after squirting that stuff in a few suspect places it seems to have done it's magic.

Sealant liberally applied to rear sunroof and all leaks sorted!
Now to find the nasty metallic clinking noise that is coming from the front suspension on small bumps - it’s not ARB, shocks, springs, turrets, drop links or steering bars. Annoying me now!

Heat shield ? Back plate on the hubs ?

Is it a tinny sound or a proper thunk ?
