Are you going for a new transfer box and linkage? Guessing, like me, you don’t have the cdl internals which makes it more expensive! Been on my to do list for a while!Haha i know, just building funds back up to get a straight through exhaust! Want to do CDL first! Need to get rid of the GB sticker too haha
Hi, my D2 TD5 reg 1/9/01 has the spindle sticking out, see the (poor) pic, taken holding my phone from underneath. Is this a sure way of telling the internals are there & it's just the linkage is missing? My t/box starts 41D.Are you going for a new transfer box and linkage? Yes going for the new transfer box and linkage! Have got the box now just hunting down a linkage...not keen on paying the £275 for the ashcroft one!Are you going for a new transfer box and linkage? Thanks Andy, thats interesting, i had assumed that because my transfer box starts with 69 it has not got the internals. I couldnt see the spigot! I think you are the lucky one!Hi, my D2 TD5 reg 1/9/01 has the spindle sticking out, see the (poor) pic, taken holding my phone from underneath. That's good to know should I decide to add that later. I need to get that rear quarter sorted first then put it on the road & see what it's like. I've never off roaded before but yours is looking good so I'm going to have to dip my toe in the future. From what i have learnt, boxes starting with 41 have the cdl fitted, so just linkage required.
Is very addictive! I had a defender 8 years ago and sold to buy a house! But i have missed the offroad bug ever since! That's good to know should I decide to add that later. Yeah even in my Freelander 1 when It snowed a couple of years back I deliberately went out to the supermarket shopping to see how it performed. The missus phoned me to ask where I was, I was gone so long. There were a few abandoned 2WD cars on the hills which were no problem for the FL, very underrated vehicle ( I know it lacks ground clearance) but quite capable with decent tyres. Is very addictive! Good work on finding the box - aside from the Ashcroft option of getting mine reconditioned there aren’t a lot of options, 2nd hand ones are like hens teeth!!Yes going for the new transfer box and linkage! Result - I keep looking but mine hasn’t grown the cdl spigot yet unfortunately so looking for a 2nd hand boxWashed and waxed it and with the above talk of cdl I had a look... I'm on a 03 so persumed I wouldn't have it but the threaded spigot with flat edges at the bottom between the 3 bolts is there! WINNER!
