I’m slowly rebuilding my Discovery 200tdi, decided to replace front springs and shock absorbers using
Galvanise turrets and mounts, all went very well but that’s me done for the day, probably give the chassis another splodge of under seal tomorrow,

Nice workmanship there bud, but am I hallucinating or are those RRC calipers on your Disco? it's the twine lines that caught my attention...

Yes the early Discovery mk1 200tdi came with the same setup brake wise as the classic range rover,
I think it was 1994 they went over to the single line,
 
Thanks for explaining that, most of what I've done to Discoveries was on 300tdi series, with the exception of a clutch and a service on a 200tdi I briefly owned. I knew the disco was pretty much based entirely on the RRC running gear, but I didn't know that they retained the twin line calipers. I thought those were a throwback to the RRC's quirky nature of the RRC's early Wabco ABS, whereby two pistons were powered by the foot pedal and the other two, as well as the rear calipers, were powered by the ABS pump. I wouldn't have thought those calipers, and or the Wabco ABS would have carried over onto the Discovery, or that the Discovery would have used conventional calipers maybe sourced from a defender? I live and learn :)
 
Had slight play in my steering shaft, top UJ worn, tried to get original type or even a UJ to dot it my self
But had to replace with the later type, definitely not as strong or engineered as well but no choice really,

Today’s job was to remove the rear A frame and replace bushes and ball joint, sounds
Simple! Well I know I’m now considered elderly at 72 but what a bugger, took me at least 4 hours
Just to get it off, Decided to complete the job tomorrow when my energy reserves have replenish :(

This at both ends then joined up with a hacksaw blade taken out of the handle

and this step still for the 16mm holes

Lowered the transmission and started to remove the ancillaries for the transfer box. Clevis pin on the hi/lo shifter selector cable is rusted in solid. So was the whole arm... Now I know why the selector was so stiff.

Rain stopped play though, just a few bolts left and the diff box is out...
