I've seen Timken bearings for 65 and had thought about sorting the hub assembly that I've taken off. (there's the other side yet!)
A twenty tonne press ... I'll ask around :)

Sorry i get my stuff trade so sometimes the round figure prices i quote are not to Joe public prices. :);)

Replaced the Bosch battery with a Alphaline (Alphastar? Whatever Data recommends). The Bosch has been playing up a lot and died twice in a day, despite having a 2 hour run between starts. Dropped on the "spare" that has been sat in storage for easily 2 years. Still fully charged and started the old girl no dramas. Left it running for an hour. Hopefully combining the Mk3 rF receiver and a strong battery will stop the problem altogether. I am getting ****ed off with this bloody thing ****ting out batteries.

Batteries do fail but have you checked your charging rate?

What's your alternator kicking out? Wammers posted a link a while back to upgrade your alternator output from 13.8 to 14.5V.

I've been considering it ever since although I'm a little worried about the fusebox.

I haven't checked anything like that yet. The other day I did get a alternator fault on the dash but it was after the battery had gone flat to the point where the doors laboured to open.

Think you had better check your charge rate.

Rodger that, I'll grab a multimeter from work and have a goosey gander. I was just hoping I'd get lucky with the battery. Already having to fork out a fortune for the Merc, just my luck the Rangie will get jealous and start throwing it's toys out of the pram.

Alternator fault is usually a reliable indicator of...........................................................................................................................................................An alternator fault.
You keep swapping batteries and slagging off the previous one you had from Battery megastore but you never seem to do any basic checks as to why you have a problem.

This was the first time I had the alternator fault and haven't had it since. At the time I didn't have the time to check, as it didn't come back I thought nothing of it, as I get gearbox faults when the battery dropped too low too. With the Bosch going tits up, I'll run the "spare" battery until I get to work and nab a multimeter. When the original battery megastore battery gave me grief the alternator was checked and was healthy but that was when I had the old rF unit. The "new" BM battery had been sat for over 2 years and still started the bus without any drama. Although I am suspecting it'll have a short life after suffering neglect for that long.

I will check the alternator at work and go from there.

Good to hear a Rangie doing some work rather than bumping kerbs in Chelsea.

Mine always works does heaps of miles heaps of farm jobbys even has my ladders on most of the time even after towing and in the snow and pulling a roller about the field shes worked out 20.1 mpg so not too bad

Usually has a roof ladder too when shes in work mode

Took mine out for a drive this weekend, first one in a few months. Started first time, drove lovely.

Don't get to use her as much as I'd like.

Took the TVR to the Mike Brewer Garage on Sunday for the national drive your classic day. Good turnout, no Landies there though.
