yep think that the way to go, i get no over heating issues i did replace the water pump and check the stat not long after i got it all was good the water pump was however a **** part one ( i didnt know any better at the time) but the pump seems to be working just fine i did a test on it im gonna go get my laser thermo gun from my mate and check the rad all over for hot n cold spots just to be sure. if the problem persists i know i will have to pull the heads to prove or disprov hg failure or liner isssue
On way back home with my new engine in the boot. Suprised how light the block is....& how big the crank is!
Changed O rings on engine oil cooler pipes, When reassembling, noticed that the steady bracket was 8mm out of line(pulling the pipes out of line,and putting the O rings under load) added packer to prevent further problems.

Not only does it put O rings under load but the flexible pipe and eventually breaks it and you lose all your trans fluid
