Progress, yeah, I thought I would start the process in plenty of time. Posted my paper dossier off to ANTs in late 2019, heard nothing for 4 months, told this was normal, so hung on. Then early 2020 had it sent back with a refusal saying only to apply 6 months before my UK licence was due to expire. And can now only apply online. So made my online application last October, had a couple of hickups due to the required form from Swansea had expired, the form is good for 21 days, there is such a backlog it expires before they look at it.:mad::mad::mad: so have to re-send a scanned copy.
My licence expires in a week so getting twitchy, though have been told it is normal to get it processed and legal around 2 days before.
It's not just me either, since "Streamlining" the system, all licenses in France (locals as well) are delt with by 6 people, so legend has it.
There is an automated query button on the website, but so many people are trying to leave a query it is too busy and crashes, don't even start to think of trying to phone up the help desk.

OK rant over.
Sorry to hear that, sometimes it's the person you end up with dealing with your situation that makes a real difference. A lot don't care and don't put the effort in.
I changed mine because of the Insurance asking me to.
I hope it gets sorted in a streamlined fashion!!

Given I'm constantly removing air from the coolant i can only think the engine must be fooooked :(

I had to run Gorsky's at 2000 rpm to burp all the air out. Took ages.

Misfire might be the injector wiring? It tends to go crackly over time and with the LPG tied in maybe something isn't right? Have you got noid lights?

Not got noids, sounds painful!! Is that the plug replacement to see the colour of the burn?
My gas tester changed colour suggesting exhaust gas present in the coolant :( if it's #3 again then it can't be a gasket/ warped head problem and it's never been overheated

And then there's the thing that goes between the lead and spark-plug that lights up with each spark pulse that I cannot remember the name of. But if yours is like the GEMS then yours is wasted spark so you'd be missing on 2 cylinders with no spark.

Yes it's wasted spark but only missing on 1

I swapped my UK licence over 8 years ago in order to keep the C & D categories, otherwise I would have had to go back to the UK for a medical on a regular basis. Easier to have a French licence and a medical over here.

It's going well... only MINOR swearing so far.

If there is a break, it wil be in the part that flexes between the A post and the door. The wires can be checked with a DVM on ohms and 2 pins to stick through the insulation at each side and check for continuity.
Had the whole loom out the door because I couldn't get my fat hands in the gap between A post and door. Couldn't find **** beyond a nick in the purple/black wire which had been repaired over 10 years ago (not done in my ownership). Although my DVM was being a bastard, so stopped for food. My concern is the break is on the vehicle side somewhere, at which point she is for the scrapper.

Scrapping it would be a shame for a broken wire:(

Yeah I know, but it is my only working car, so can't afford to have it off the road so I can start tearing out the loom. Was really hoping for an easy fix here.
I'm sure the fix will be easy, it's the finding that's hard. I have never ever had to tear out a loom. They usually only break where they flex, then you have possibility of a corroded earth point and it's worth looking at the connectors behind the kick panel at the foot of the A post for corrosion.
