Throttle position sensor failed perhaps? Not a common failure. Or dodgy connectors.

What's your old age got to do with a head gasket Kermie. LOLBeen thinking about my predicament and looking at the head gasket i have ready to go on..
The only way exhaust gas can get into the coolant, is via #1 or #7 where the coolant goes on/out of the head is that right? I'm having cold misfire issues with #3

P38 electronics are simpler and, if kept dry, more reliable than L322 electronics, one module developing a problem does not either cause other modules to mal function or stop communication.

A mate and long time landrover fan has purchased a P38 diesel off eBay and is on the way down to Cardiff on the train to drive it back. The seller has said there is no power to the driver's door and so nothing works.
He, like me, has never owned an electrically complicated vehicle before but I'll get him to sign up here for advice anyway.
Curious as what would this fault be though.

That's what I am thinking. If the rain ever stops I will have a look at the one on the scrapper. It's got to be at the top of the pedal somewhere so hopefully not too hard to get to.

Fuses and then centre microswitch on door actuator. If pre-98 then maybe the separate black earth wire has fouled the window mechanism.
Thought they were under the bonnet near the throttle cable spindle.
Now I am gonna have to look

@kermit_rr , according to my mate, that's what the seller said, no window, mirror, central looking, nowt. He should be back home 4pm ish, I'll learn more than.

I have never actually seen the TPS but it's supposed to be near the top of the throttle pedal.

Just had a call off him, running very late because of flooding on the tracks but he's now an hour into a 2 1/2hr return trip in his new 38.Back home on the back of a recovery truck maybe
Says it's purring along lovely. I'm not going to get to see it in daylight though now.
