ok, so aware that this is a greenlining thread, and not wanting to turn it into my disco rebuild thread, but hey ho :rolleyes:

so after a good week that started off as "i'll just change my sills and mounts", turned into a bit of an epic "i'll just replace the 18" of each side of my disco from the rear arches forward, including a good chunk of the bulkhead"

anyway, pictures as the yank reminded me about.......

lazy underseal can shaker. amused by the suds caused by higher pressure coolant, due to saw being on high speed. (the can's cable tied to the blade :rolleyes:)

uncle zip, for going to Austria and wanting to store his disco in the shop for a week, thus providing me with a date, therefor transport during the "sill change"

rob for providing me with a td5 disco, when the initial timescale went for a **** due to uncle zip coming back from Austria and needing to get home.

josh "the apprentice" for spanner monkey'ing and doing the menial tasks that everyone hates.

deano, for doing summat, cant recall what but he was there for a night or two. (think his spare wheel carrier was involved)
edit- and providing a new electrode and nozzle for the plasma cutter after I obliterated the originals)

slew, for the endless conversations, coffee making, painting, chocolate cakes, coffee's, conversations, fitting the rear seats, chocolate fingers, loosing the 10mm socket, coffee making, general banter, bastardising the front bumper, hovering, finding the 10mm socket, needle gunning, painting, talking, phone calls and pm's and a minor epic on Saturday night.

my missus for providing dinners over the weekend and washing all the cups.

jack for finding all the cups.

dickfer, for being in Austria.

gonzo, for the occasional totally unrelated conversations allowing a break.

me old man, for fixing all the bits he broke, and replacing bits I'd taken off days earlier only to find he had to take them back off to replace summat underneath them.

me mother, for allowing me old man 9 consecutive "workshop days" when its only usually a Wednesday for tinkering on "workshop day"

and finally, all the offers of "you can borrow my motor" in case I didn't get it finished in time.

the disco is now sat at home, smelling of red oxide and underseal.
and the shop needs sorting out.

I didn't do too bad a job with the angle grinder on the bumper either :cool: Now I can put more rocks into my routes :D:D:D

:eek: if I'm tagging along then I might be asking about a park n ride option (my D2 gets parked, and I get bounced about in someone else's :D)

I will ask my better half about the latest trips.

trips out are usually by invite only of late, due to a bit of a fiasco on ere'.
be a regular poster in this thread, let us get to know yer, an you'll get an invite.
also have a read of glass website, and familiarise yourself with the greenlane code of conduct ;)

cheers. wasn't exactly planned, but needed doing all the same.
still have a bit of fettling to do, like adjusting the door strikers so yer don't have to use yer arse to shut em'.
 
It's a 1990 defender 90 300tdi engine, only had it a couple of weeks, starting to find niggles lol doors don't shut unless slammed ridiculously hard rear door won't lock! Moved driver floor mat to find a severely rusted footwell lol I can see my engine haha !
