yes , in the pic above, the slot head screw is the retainer for the brake drum , to the left of it there is a stud missing, i have found it now so it can go on the hub, but most people dont bother putting the screws in the hubs as its easier when yer have to get them back off, they tend to weld them selves in and people dont use the correct sized flat head to undo the screws,
i had a few so thort i would use them :)

iv been doing a bit in the evenings now,

diff fitted to back axle, then piped up the brakes

been working on another series so not really had that much time to do much, ah well, a bits better than nothing

Definatly being inspired by your work to take my body pannels right back. Just starting a series 2 full rebuild (unfortunatly, might take more time than yours due to money) I was wanting to sand blast back the doors etc, I presume you sandblasted them? if so is it worth buying a sandblaster? if so any advice?

thanks
Varney

morning,
er.... money ?? yeah iv not a lot of that me self at the mo tbh :( just keep going with it

i have a sand blaster , but all i used on the doors was a good coat of paint stripper , nitromorse stuff, then went over it with a few wire brushes in drills

il prob sandblast the hindges and locks , but thats about all ,

the steel frames clean up easy really , be carefull peeling the door skins off, to keep them straight, but once ther off and cleaned up they go back on much better

i replaced the bottoms with the door repair sections from paddocks , nice easy stuff to work with too

no probs, if you look round places like screwfix and b&q have these wire brushes on offer, i got some for 99p reduced from £4 before christmas .
