yer , i got some redoxide from screwfix last week, bloody see thru, not impressed really , and thats with out any thinners, that stuffs good tho , will be doin the bulkhead with it too,

try autopaint international the red oxide from there is like fekkin treacle

been over to a local suppliers today , chase auto paints, they couldnt be more helpfull, picked up etch primer, buff base coat, and the top yellow coat, and a couple of spray guns etc , only prob is the cellulose and synthetic are reacting with the redoxide, so will just be using me etch primer on the steel too expensive option i kno , but ony thing the synth base coats seem to take to well. got a few coats of high build on it now, so should stop the blistering reaction. least i can rub out the imperfections as i build it up,

you can buy a sealer for on top on non synth/cellulose paints, stops the reaction, i once did a mk1 golf, previous guy had it in matt black,, when i had the final coat on the whole car orange peeled! had to rub down and seal coat for a perfect finish.

rubbed down with wet dry and another coat of highbuild its covered well, no reactions this time,

top coat of jcb yellows gone on thismorning , looks pretty good now, will build a few coats up as they harden off

anyone kno the bolt hole centers for the width of the bulkhead, ( the bulkhead outrigger holes?) so i can get the new legs and feet on , too much play in the new footwells to give a definite measurement,

might wait till new chassis arives to get exact measurements of holes, then build bulkhead to suite

Regarding the bulkhead feet holes, I reckon you're better off doing it once you've got the chassis - I was advised to repair my bulkhead feet and footwells on the chassis so that I know it'll all line up again later. I tack-welded the feet and footwells in place (it was a windy day so my MIG was struggling!) and then took the whole lot into the garage to weld up properly.

Even if I went outside and measured the centres on mine - you can be pretty certain it won't be the same as yours!

yes very good keep up the good work i have just purchased one myself ex military had been used up to recently as a break down truck needs a lot of work too chassis is very bad 24 volt petrol engine going well

Pontiac parisenne ,62 , me neighbours Along wi a fire bird and a dodge pickup and a few more yanl tanks

Will hang on for the chassis I think. No rush. Should be ere soon, just need to find the time to work on it !

well, the richards chassis turned up thursday morning, 5.30 am

well impressed, worth every penny.

chassis bushes fitted, springs have been fitted , waiting for the snow to stop and the axles will be gong on ,

been cutting the bulkhead up thismorning as rain stopped play , pics to come tomorrow

just a quick point next time yer need buckets cheap go to the nearest pvc window factory as all the rubber seals get delivered to them in 20 ltr buckets wich they throw in the skip (i usualy get mine fer nowt )

ive just read every single page of this restoration, its truely amazing what you have done, from the start, to getting near the end now, youve done every job right, superb job mate!
