hi ,you might have a dodgy camshaft sensor, might be worth a try?Changed HT leads and plugs today. Running a lot better, but still rough. Could lack of valley gasket seals be causing it?
Cant see how. It would just enter crankcase. What do you mean as 'rough' running? It was running fine before HGs were changed, I can't imagine something would have gone bad in the mean time. Can unmetered air enter through the ends of the valley gasket?
It is a gems. This problem described could be caused by a cracked flex plate.
Check the old crank sensor for any damage.
err i think i may see your problem..
the cylinder numbers are low numbers front, high numbers by the firewall. odd right, even left..
getting the leads ass backwards will make it run like it **** for sure !!
Leads were fitted as per a diagram I found online, although the injectors are connected (semi)-randomly so I'm sure it's those. I'll have another fiddle tomorrow when the weather is nice.
Thanks for all of your suggestions
Just picked it up from the MOT centre. Passed, but temperature gauge when straight to red on the way home. Pulled over, steam everywhere, opened coolant filler cap and the water exploded out. Filled it with 5 litres of water, locked it and left it for the night.
Head gaskets maybe damaged again?
