Posting for a mate !
Who's just bought a V8 Discovery 2, approx 120k on the clock with the 4l thor engine. When he bought it a couple of months ago all was good but it has starting consuming more and more oïl . Last trip he did he used 8 liters of oïl to do 350 miles
Starts and runs perfectly, pulls like a train but smokes, has an LPG conversion that works perfectly, no oïl in coolant, coolant level stable, no strange noises or oïl leaks etc .......
He has tried different oïl's but even 20w 50 does'nt make any difference. compression test shows approx plus or minus 180 psi on all cylinders.
Thinking it might be scrapper rings ? Valve seals ? but would like to get head around how it was'nt useing any oïl and now is before going any further ??
