I can't believe the V8 engine is consuming that much oil. 8L is a lot of oil! Sounds more of an external leak. Rear seal blown????
How can you tell this?
With the oil filler cap off, place a rubber glove over the oil filler tube and see if the glove inflates.
If it inflates quickly, there could be a clogged plastic PCV valve in the right side of the rocker cover.
Update after having a look at her this morning !
Running on petrol revving up on to a clean piece of cardboard , nothing ! no oïl or water clean as a whistle ! Sat in the boot watching the rear slight white smoke but nothing to suggest it's useing so much oïl !
All 4 spark plugs on the right bank are black and blocked up with carbon !
The breather on the left is not blocked but no pressure, breather on the right rocker cover is not blocked but there is pressure if you block with your finger !!
Slight oïl leak from above running around the bell houseing and dripping on the exhaust a each side !
Running on gas rev it once it spits about an egg cup of water and soot out and smokes like smoky thing !!
Not done another compression test but can't understand where that pressure is coming from on the right bank rocker if the compression is supposedly good and there is no pressure at the dip stick ???
