Didnt take photos, but there was not much to see, just the shaft tube almost all outAny photos? If damaged they can be hard to remove.

I can try to force it out with some hammer, but was just wondering if there was any thing else keeping it in placeAny photos? If damaged they can be hard to remove.
If you remove the cross pin and then it may be possible to smack out the gears [ could be torched out ] Bevel/planetary gear set available. Is it reverseable after someone welded One? Seems quite hard to cut that weld off to remove the Bebel gears
I'd works that you could damage the stub axle, which is what it's catching on.Didnt take photos, but there was not much to see, just the shaft tube almost all out
Oh no, so the extra diff is useless :/Oh, no, that's a Salisbury. Your replacement diff won't do. Salisbury diffs are tough, and tricky to work on. 24 splines on both ends of the shaft.
With a new half shaft i get moving again, but remain stuck on a welded diff.If you can find a replacement axle you'll be fine. Parts for Salisbury axles are available. And there are great tutorials on YouTube. Britannia restorations, Mike, Covers a full rebuild.
That is good to know!Good news, your rover diff will be a spare for the front axle.
Will try to remove the diff rear plate and check it out tommorow. When you get the broken shaft out just do not bother with a replacement until you find another axle or decide to fix the diff you have. At least it will not scrub on the corners, after all that is how it has been working for some time.
I would remove the Salisbury diff rear plate and have a look in there and see what is going on.
