If you value your motor you would only buy branded oil/fuel filters.

personally I use genuine oil/fuel filters as they are not much more £££. the genuine oil filters also have a lower micron filter (0.25 vs 0.5 i think?). Depends if you want things to last or not.

Britpart are only kings of mass produced, mass marketing **** quality parts

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but on my last Disco I kept snapping Procomp shock absorbers and replaced them with cheapy Britpart ones and was amazed that they didn't fail, hence why I bit the bullet and gone Britpart springs and shocks all round this time.
DV has Britpart on his Disco and well, if he can't break them they gotta be up to the task surely??:D:rolleyes:

Think my HD springs are BP .. they're bright yellow anyway ... and I've had no bother with them, but dunno if other manufacturers made yellow springs.

Must admit to using OEM filters and other stuff, but haven't got a problem using some parts if I need them from BP, I've had to use them sometimes when OEM haven't been available easily and haven't actually had problems with them.

Mostly my opinion is they are about as good as they cost, which generally isn't much, but serve a purpose, especially if you need something quickly.

I won't be buying any more britpart components.

The Britpart rotor arm went on the M5.
The Britpart springs (although the same part no) are different spring rates left to right.
The Britpart Oil filter takes 10 seconds for the engine oil pressure to turn the oil light off (as opposed to the light going off within 1/2 a second on the OEM or champion part)
The britpart pahnard rod bushes have gone after 12,00 miles.
The Britpart brake pads fell apart.
The Britpart hub oil seals both went after 1000 miles.

Mmmmm - a pattern forming methinks!

IMO, definitely a false economy.
Having bought and fitted a pile of these parts, I'm just waiting for the next one to need replacement.

my britpart exhaust was the wrong size and needed lots of work for a good fit, dislocation cones are very poorly cut out, and the spring retainers still have the burrs and sharp edges from where they have been cut out

i try not to buy britpart very often

Wouldn't touch ****part stuff again wi' a barge pole ! Utter ****e.. and that's puttin' it mildly!!
Ah learnt me lesson a whiles back after ah had to continually renew me new bits after a very short space of time.. ands that's with mainly road drivin'!!!
Me mate was even less impressed when he ordered a steerin' boss a whiles back...

Snapping ProComp Shocks usually due to bad fitment in 99% of the cases if the large washer is fitted backwards Flat to the shock rubber at the top mount. The top mount needs to be able to pivot outwards as the mount of the axle is more outbound than the top mount meaning it needs to move outwards aswell as compress. If you fit the domed washer backwards the weld usually snaps at the eye and can limits your articulation. The dome needs to be inwards and the flat face outwards.
