very true, even the l322s have plenty of electrics but a good battery keeps them happy and still nowhere near the amount of electrics or sensors a lot of new stuff has.
Go for the RR, with 70,000 on it when you may move it on you shouldn’t lose much anyway and get the RR ownership out of your system… you’ll probably end up selling it then buying another estate or saloon then sell it within month or two and buy another RR, they do get under your skin and have something other cars lack.

When looking at cars I prefer receipts that main dealer invoices when there’s a chance filters are ticked off but not changed, saw that the other week servicing a mates Nissan qushqui or whatever it’s called and last was Nissan dealer.. oil filter was rusty and seized solid, no way had that been off within 12 months.

I have noticed the metal oil and fuel filters tend to look old very quickly.
I reckon its the usual money saving on the paint/laquer they use on the filters is as thin as psis.

Lots of stories about of main dealers not doing what they are paid to do.

Quality of parts is definitely down to a price especially paint on filters etc but this one on this Nissan was seized solid and seriously corroded, like you say there’s plenty of story’s / undercover filming of main dealers not doing jobs.
Think it also depends on local area and what garages there are, mine is a general garage not LR special, but known him years and never had an issue and anything transmission related there’s a excellent transmission specialist only few miles away. However where I can I will repair my RR myself. Something quite satisfying when you fix a problem.

That is a thing of beauty and being for a LC, may actually arrive at the shoot under its own steam and not on the back of a recovery truck.

Yes the 3.6. The 4.4 was never really an option as they are strong money. I’ll keep this one for a couple of years then think again…

that’s the 2.7/3.0 TDV6 in the disco 3/4 to my knowledge.

If you can keep the damp out of the electronic wizardry they are a great vehicle with levels of refinement that are well worth having.
