Bemble is a gearbox god. Absolutely no point doing anything else other than what he suggests.
Leave it alone or you will have no case against the garage.can I just remove the transfer box motor and see if works without it?when changing gear, the gear changes correspond to the on dash gears.
weird, crunching seems to have dissaperared,if I select neutral and put in low car moves forward,it reluctantly selects high with a clunk,no drive in high. Why? You have put a fuse in#37 which puts the transfer box in neutral so any grinding points to the gearbox. As Bemble gave the possible causes I think its time to return it to the garage that sold it to you.
still wont drive in any gear and no reverse.garage are trying to avoid replying to letters/calls.weird,crunching seems to have dissaperared,if I select neutral and put in low car moves forward,it reluctantly selects high with a clunk,no drive in high.
Recorded delivery "letter before action" giving 14 days notice f intended court actionstill wont drive in any gear and no reverse.garage are trying to avoid replying to letters/calls.
sent a letter recorded delivery on the 4/4/20-no reply, emailed the business,no response, emailed them again directly on facebook, still no reply.Recorded delivery "letter before action" giving 14 days notice f intended court action

Courts are closed...Recorded delivery "letter before action" giving 14 days notice f intended court action
No harm in starting the process though which I believe can be done on line these days.Courts are closed...
now where did I stash my balaclava?
Yes, of course, the garage is probably closed and may be isolating etc, they may also be ignoring due to situation were in...No harm in starting the process though which I believe can be done on line these days.
courts are closed at moment, garage has seen my messages but not responded-I will start the process in the hope of getting this fixed or refunded.Yes, of course, the garage is probably closed and may be isolating etc, they may also be ignoring due to situation were in...
there will be quite a backlog down the line, that's for sure.
Your recorded delivery letter should specifically state that it is a notice of intended court action.courts are closed at moment, garage has seen my messages but not responded-I will start the process in the hope of getting this fixed or refunded.
transfer box will select neutral with fuse in p37,remove fuse, select neutral, switch hi/low it will selec either with engine not running,if running it selects low and reluctantly high, will move forward in low,no matter what gear is selected.when trying to change from low to high I get a violent clunk like some jolt.I would just check that there’s no fuse in position 37 and then put a fuse in and see if the transfer box will select (transfer box) neutral. If it does, remove the fuse again and see if the transfer box will re-select high range, then report back.

P.S. For the avoidance of doubt, we’re talking about transfer box neutral here, which has nothing whatsoever to do with the transmission being placed in neutral using the gear selector. The purpose of fuse 37 is to allow the vehicle to be towed on its wheels without rotating the transmission output shaft
Without re-reading the whole thread, have you checked for oil in the transfer box?transfer box will select neutral with fuse in p37,remove fuse, select neutral, switch hi/low it will selec either with engine not running,if running it selects low and reluctantly high, will move forward in low,no matter what gear is selected.when trying to change from low to high I get a violent clunk like some jolt.
Not yet.ive got 2 broke fingers so cant do a lot at moment.Without re-reading the whole thread, have you checked for oil in the transfer box?
