Whats the opinion out there on stainless steel accessories.
I live in Guernsey and my Defender is never more than a couple of miles from the sea.
Obviously some thing Solihull never envisaged.
Fed up with the rusty racing stripes from the hinges and other parts we decided to do something about it.
Even powder coated parts seem to fall apart here (maybe a Guernsey thing and no one else has a problem)
I am biased towards S/S hinges as myself and a fellow enthusiast decided to supply our own marine grade 316 parts.
I would like to know the thoughts of you defender and series nuts.
I know some of you will be against the clean bling look of our hinges but the grounding for their existence was a completely corrosion free product with a life time guarantee.
There is also engineering types who will argue that if not fitted properly electrolysis between the different metals may actually cause corrosion? Shame land rover actually builds this problem into the vehicles to start with.
Please comment and feedback your thoughts.
