No the main gear inside the transfer that attaches to the gear box output. (Remove the Ring of bolts next to handbrake)
You count the cut gears & you search the count it will tell you if 1.4 or 1.22
Just make sure you put the gear back the correct way as otherwise you only have 3 gears

If I have to I will take a look, but Knowing me I will only have 3 Gears when Ive finished.

It’s any easy job. Even for you. You are getting a lot of knowledge handed to you and you are not scared to listen then have a go.

Just had a look through the pile of paperwork and it had the Gearbox and Transfer box sent away and Rebuilt in 2007, so not sure if they changed anything, probably accounts for the numbers been rubbed off.
