Got both my front doors now (steel skin type) but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Both doors ordered at the same time but sent separately (nearly 2-weeks apart). No email receipt to say order had been received so I downloaded it from the website.
First door:- A couple of weeks after order, no notification that it had been dispatched which meant that when it arrived unexpectedly no-one was available to sign for it so a re-delivery was arranged however TNT failed to load it onto the van so in the end I went and collected it myself! Door looks fine, slotted it into place that afternoon as a dry run and appears to fit ok (I know that adjustment can be required so I was perfectly willing to make allowances for this but it wasn't required). The winder frame (I ordered a pair of the later ones from John Craddock who are doing the best price) needs some fettling as one of the door brackets is slightly out, I assume this to be an issue with the door as the panel is Genuine and stamped out. Packaging of the door is fine with sheets of thick foam rubber lining the boxes which means that damage in transit is unlikely. :)
Second door:- Arrived just over a week later, I did receive an email this time telling me it had been dispatched but unfortunately that was sent 8-hours after I actually received the door but learning from my previous experience I had been monitoring the website daily and knew it was on the way. Winder panel is a dead fit on this one but otherwise this door not so good, steel skin not bonded to frame and rattled like a good'un, I emailed SP 4x4 and he replied that I was mistaken and it WAS bonded, a flurry of emails passed between us in which I was told that replacement was not an option however I could return both doors for refund, I explained that I was happy with the first door and it was only the second that I was rejecting which he finally appeared to understand. I returned the second door (I took a couple of videos first to prove the problem) and after hearing nothing for several days I contacted them. They apologised saying that I was correct and it had indeed been assembled with no bonding and that a new skin would be fitted and this time be correctly bonded. Next day the door arrived back but although it had been bonded they had used the same skin and re-crimped which means that more preparation will be required when it is painted. I did point out that they promised to use a new skin and this was met with the reply "many thanks for the feedback"! :(
Doors will now be prepped (to clear all holes etc) and then along with a few other items, be sent off to the spray shop.

On the whole I can't recommend SP 4x4, the product has the potential to be great however quality can be hit & miss and customer service is almost non-existent with several emails receiving no reply.
Hopefully I will now have no reason to contact them ever again!

Shockingy bad customer service - I bought 2 skins very recently that were poorly packed and damaged upon delivery - no tracking details sent - no receipt sent, no answer to my emails and when contacted through paypal a very slow response deliberately i suspect to drag out the return process which I have to pay for upfront - please do not use this company however tempted as you will be disappointed and loose money - possibly the worst customer service i have ever received - they should not be in business in my opinion and I will never leave a positive review about them. Oh and they were zintec coated not galvanised as advertised

Hard to figure out why a company would be so poor for so long, you’d think they would want to build a reputation and increase their business.

All they need to do is spend half a day training their packing department?

Isn't the Landrover parts supply business strange?....we all complain about Britpart but keep buying from them. Sp4x4 offer shoddy service and suspect quality, but seem to be doing just fine! Perhaps people are generally only buying things like doors and panels once and have no need to return......seems unlikely with a Landrover!`

The thing is, if you're after, say, a set of 2nd row doors, what options do you have?

I'm not aware of anyone other than sp doing them?

Haven’t Britpart started doing doors?

I think they now offer rear window trim sets as well, for converting hard top to SW.
Previously only available from LR at outrageous prices.

So I wish I had read this thread earlier. Ordered a pair of front door bottoms for my Series 3 before Christmas. Packaging and finish seemed pretty good so sent them straight off to the paint shop. They came back looking great....

However as I was prepping to swap them over I noticed that the door locking mechanism doesn't fit. Having looked at it the hole in the skin is much small and it means the barrel for the lock does not get the correct clearance. Has anyone else had this problem?

The only solution seems to be to grind down the casing for the barrel, or send them back but judging by others experiences I am unlikely to get the money back for the painting.....

Almost certainly they will say that it is too late and you should have had a trial fit as soon as you received the doors. :(
I took my doors off and loosely fitted the new ones (including mounting the inner panel) the same day they arrived just to be sure. Must admit I didn't offer up my handles.

Being fair (and I am happy to moan about SP4x4 at any other time!) the holes etc on my galvanised steel doors were all pretty much spot on, the only place I had to make an adjustment was to the (genuine) steel inner panel as the mounting stud on the door was slightly out but I could do this to the panel rather than the door.

I had same problem. The holes for the fixing screws and barrel didn't line up. Had to file out hole which meant plastic escutcheon was loose.

Was it the driver's door ?
I got 5 new doors many years ago and they were ok apart from the driver's door, inner steel panel (genuine) wouldn't fit and the two external handle screw holes were wrong too.

Guys, ive only read the first few posts, but you guys do realise that a company's T's and C's still have to meet current distance selling regs? They could point you to a copy of the beano and say thats out T's&C's, that doesnt make it lawfull, so if their T's and C's dont meet regs its their problem, not yours.

I have S3 doors on my 90 ..... these dont look right at all .

Mines has the lift up handles but the lock barrel comes through a separate hole in the door.

Could this door be designed for a different set of handles/locks ?

But my passengers door top from SP didnt fit very well.... no matter what i did i could not get the frame to clear the window on the passengers side .... even though the drivers side ( also an SP ) fitted well. the two windows were not the same size when placed face to face so i gave up and just got on with driving it .... wagons rough as tits anyway :D

The glass or the door aperture was different?

I purchased the anti burst conversion kit from sp. these are to go on my new bearmach doors. Obviously the barrel hole needs drilling, but i am finding the lock duesnt fit as the outer handle fouls on the outer skin. I don’t know which is wrong, the lock or the door!

Just wanting to resurrect this post as I am having issues with quality and customer services with SP Panels or SP 4x4.

I bought a rear galvanised Defender door, hinge holes for centre hinge at the wrong angle and now suspect top hinge holes are too close to the edge as the door sits too far to the left.

Not a peep out of customer services on email from coming up 24 hours including a police nudge email.

So its looking like SP 4x4 are no a company to deal with.

I thought they were packing up https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/07638788/filing-history

But it look as though they have started a new company.... https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11322435

I wasn't overly impressed with them, we use DDS Metal now.
