Random non related question - did you remove your front and rear arch liners? I kinda figure they are a nice gap for rot to set in.

Joel

Arch liners are the devils work.

Discos would not rot if they did not have:

Sunroofs
Carpet/sound deadening.
Door vapour seals.
Arch liners.
Sill trims.

Get rid of anything (within reason) that let's water in, keeps water in, keeps air out, hides stuff from the jetwash.

What I would do to have a new d1 shell now, nothing but paint and fresh air would touch that bodywork!!

Hindsight is wonderful though.

Yes, remove your arch liners, under carpet sound deadening and sill trims :)

So many updates required!

Sam, that looks great. I may pick your brains as I am about to fit megasquirt to my Zetec
. The old GreenHornet is sporting a nice winch and bumper modification but as soon as I booked Friday off for a day offloading, the rear diff has gone this evening. Very ****ed lol.

Looking good matey

Thanks Ian :)

Yep, on hand to offer advice if needed, no probs :)

Not got round to tuning it yet though so that's still a mystery!

If you get a good kit it really isn't that tough an install.

Regards the disco, how unlucky :(

Still, tis only Thursday so why not swap it out??

Hi guys

Yeah it has replaced the centre vents cos the new heater only feeds the screen:

The vent holes have been a planned location for a switch panel for about 18 months!

And NO it is not drainpipe!!!

It is 72mm guttering!! :hysterically_laughi

I am sure as sure that land rover used guttering for the mould because it is exactly the right profile!

Ran a few more wires tonight, now ready to start connecting up switches.

The loom running to the switch panel area is 1 1/2 inch thick!

Tonight's work done!

Basically ran more wires, rearward for work lights and LED beacons, forwards for LED beacons, left side of the dash for map light, roof lining for interior light (upgrade) and right side of dash for CB, then separated and bunched all the earths, and split the loom for fuse board, relay board, switch board, then added any wires running between these locations.

Nige's cable tie technique has got me hooked, so neat!!! :D

Loom is growing:

More Land Rover repellant illegal neat wiring:

And fitted :)

MOAR carling switches arrive tomorrow :D and that switchboard will see some good progress methinks!

Cheers! :)
