Luckily Gates belts have a very simple numbering system, mines a 6207MC so I'll just get an 08, 09, 10 etc and return the ones I don't use to the supplier.

Cheers :)

so do halfords - the number of the belt is the length (in mm i think) and the letter is the style (V, flat , toothed etc.)

Hardly any!

Been too busy working on the fecker!

Hoping to make Parkwood on the 14th and still a **** load to do!!

Might take it out for some lanes one evening next week to shake it down, depending on when I get it ready though!

Fingers crossed mate i'll have it together in time!

Im thinking about going along there with my stubby pipe on the exhaust, i wonder if they'll let me in?

Do these places have a noise limit or is it not something which usually features in the rule book?

I suppose 'road legal' should be sufficient regulation :/

They'll want to see:

MOT cert, V5, insurance, & valid drivers license...

Noisy, do you know if a 200tdi dash will fit a 300tdi? or will mounts ec be different due to shape?

iv got an idea in my head and 200 tdi would be better dash..other wise il end up doing some custom jobby i think :S

also how good is the kit car heater as im looking at doing similar now that mines packed up...grr

pleanty of heat or just ample for a disco, also is it annoying having just the 1 speed...off and on lol

Will have to decide next week. It's quiet until you approach the throttle pedal...

Regards dash, it will fit, but I don't know how easily.

Anything can be done though right? 200 dash is FAR superior, in fact most 200 things are tbh.

Heater is good! I mean it's not a monster, but it provides warm air to keep the screen from frosting and it keeps the car warm enough even on very cold nights, but I'm a v8 at 82° thermostat and an immense amount of heat from the tunnel!

It was smaller than I expected when I got it, but it does work, and fits the 4 demister ports on the 200 dash perfectly as you can see from my pics last year.

Regards temp haha no it's no problem, in fact it's simple:

Too cold: heater on
Too warm: window open
Just right: none or both

Job done :D

whats this comfort you speak of..i just dont want to be shivering whilst driving lol..

hmm time for card to come out and play, may have had another idea for dash which involvces swapping out the centre console bit so no stereo or heter vents there, but who knows.

Sooooo

A good old fashioned day in the shop working on the disco today, and not finished yet!!

Mounted the electric compressor, air locker solenoids and relay.

Mounted the tanks

And still wiring the switches in!
