I'm off down south to drop off the small block and pick up the big block on saturday now :D cant wait to fit a blown 454

Theres been a slight change in plan  yet again!

I'm no longer picking up the later model GenVI block and instead I'm picking up a MKIV engine which is complete but stripped and has a Weiand 8-71 with it and twin Holley 600 carbs.....

This works out cheaper for me as its a 2 bolt main and given that I'm not going to be revving the tits off the motor it'll be more than strong enough! Especially with a stud girdle in place :)

1996 would have been the GenVI block, the MK4 could is an 80's one I think

The blocks are as good but cheaper cos they're older, the GenVI block is also harder to get parts for as they're newer so theres no a huge deal of aftermarket bits going cheap unlike the MKIV

I love this thread, i literally have no idea what you started doing, and how you got to this point, but I'm glad you're doing it. Keep up the good work

Cheers :) appreciate the support haha

I don't know either  I had it more or less roadworthy with the 3.5 efi then I kept getting bigger engines until I settled on a supercharged 454 :D

Pics will follow on saturday once the motor has been collected
