So today, new bulkhead won this beast for £31.43! And also got some extra imperial spanners to help me out……..cos why not

It is absolutely solid! I couldn't pick a single fault with it when i picked it up

Small update whilst I'm having lunch, slam panel marked and cut
Its currently drying off as I've just given it a coat of red ox before the tractor black goes on
After that I'll drill a couple of holes and attach the grille

In red ox and test fitted so I can drill new holes in the wings (drilled the 5mm pilot just need to enlarge them now)
And the mesh grille starting to take shape, I'll be putting a frame round it before fitting
Sorted out the radiator hose too so the rads ready to fit I just need to paint the outside of the slam panel again as it started raining before I could get the paint on!

I was going to leave it that size and run the fan constantly however with that being said and it now bolted in place I'm not a huge fan of the shape or chunky wire I've got
So yeah probably going to cut it slightly larger and pick up some finer mesh to make the grille from

Jai you'll like this……….I'm considering buying the conversion parts to swap my rebuilt 380 to stumpy spec
Still making that axle though.
My thinking here is if I have the shorter box in I'll have a longer prop, this long prop mixed with the cranked rear axle will mean I get some good travel out of it plus it would mean that I've got everything set up on a bulletproof box…….
I'm not moving the engine back to where it was but if I make the stumpy box I think I should gain an extra 4" back on the rear prop
If someone would be so kind as to measure a standard LT77 defender box and LT230 length, bell housing to brake drum for me that would be great
