The Yuasa 640 amp I got from Halfords for £100 has worked perfectly fine on mine for the last 2 years and still has 3 years of warranty left.

Are the heater plugs working ok
i disconnected the battery early december.
it sat in the garage for about 6 weeks .
reconnected the battery gave it about 40 seconds on pre heat (very cold day about -2) .
it sounded like it wasn't going to start then it sort of grumbles into life

When cold I find it is good to turn engine over for 2/3 seconds before giving heat. This puts some fresh fuel vapour in the combustion chambers to warm up.

It’s possible, but needs a lot of cranking, how long was yours turning over before it started
A decent battery will maintain 12.6 V and rise quickly after use.
With ignition on turn on headlights then try to start, if they dim considerably then battery usually issue.
U could try jumping from another car, and if it starts quicker than usual then almost certainly the battery.
But to get back to your question, Halfords do a good range with long guarantees, they are easy to deal with but not cheap.
The likes of GSF do an online battery search which you can then buy direct or go through local factor.

Halfords batteries, especially the less common ones, tend to sit on the shelf without getting a regular charge

Just replaced my plugs and the difference is immense previously needed 3 or 4 long heats now goes after two short uns
I buy quite a few Halfords batteries as they can be very reasonable with the trade discount, never had one fail.
And they come with decent guarantee.
If you have a card, apparently Costco are good also.
