This is one of my favorite lanes in North Wales and I think one of the toughest. Not exactly technically tough but more because it's so tight and ever changing. I also love the way the terrain changes into 3 distinct sections over the course of the lane.

I stumbled across it a year or so ago and I'd love to know if it has a name or if anyone else has driven it? As the video narrative says its runs from the South of Ceiriog Forest down to Pandy or as good as.

They were concerned that I gave away too much information about the lanes location and also said I was glorifying green laning - well a couple of guys did, a lot more enjoyed the film!.

I can vaguely see the point of view although I personally think it's not that simple to do unless you know the area and I'm irritated that someone described my films as 'glorifying laning'

Ah well, as I've learnt from a variety of stuff I've done, there will always be someone with an axe to grind!

Yeah you can't please everyone mate.

Glorifying laning is a bit of a weird one.

I mean, taking pics/vids of what you get up to and showing it to others is not abnormal, and yeah of course it glorifies it, that's the point, you want to share it with others.

Anyway.

I think the location thing again is discretionary, IMO better to err on the side if caution and keep location info to known folks on forums/in clubs etc

But like you say, it not like you're giving out postcodes.

Cheers anyway, Sam

Dunno about the 'glorifying' bit  but we have a general policy of not giving out lane locations, certainly not in public areas and tbh with such a large membership 'members only' areas amounts to pretty much the same thing.

Publicising locations in the glossies has resulted in far too much traffic on lanes that can't cope with the volume and considerable damage has been caused.

I'd say your description is borderline, wouldn't delete it myself but if it gets reported by members with good laning credentials I'll consider it.

How did the vinyl stand up?

The vinyl has held up well. No tears or rips but it is marked a little here and there. Less than if it had been paint and obviously the paint underneath is protected! Interesting stuff this vinyl. Just gone over it with back to black bumper stuff and it looks great.

Lesson learned with lane locations although the intention was more to find if anyone else new it's name than share it.

You cam imagine with the videos I make I get 20 or 30 emails a week asking for lane info which I ignore.

Haven't driven it but I do recognise it as it's one of the lanes penciled in for our run this month. Don't know the name though.

No idea what its called I just know it as Part of the Llwyber Ceiriog Trail. Drove it in January. One to do N - S if its been wet.

I've just found it in less than 10mins with the info in this thread lol
anyone who cant find it in 30mins doesn't deserve to own a landrover

lol. I don't like to give lane info away but my theory was it was vague enough to deter the kind of people I wouldn't want to share the info with but enough for a fellow laner to find!

I might have got that balance wrong as I have received some flack about the detail I provided? Any thoughts on this?

I don't plan to do it regularly but in this case I wanted to know more about the lane, which I've now done!
