Couple of years back, a mate of mine bought a farmhouse at auction.
He had a final viewing of the property on the Thursday afternoon, the auction was on Friday afternoon. He went back on Saturday morning to admire his new purchase and there wasn't a single slate left on the roof of the house or the barn!
Of course, he hadn't yet arranged any insurance and the rozzers established that they went missing on the Friday night, so not covered by the previous owners insurance.
Cost him £15k!
