yeah I have hired some stuff in my time from b&q they come in handy. maybe they should be more realistic with the pricing

Yep I bought an angle grinder and it burnt out after about 8months. couldn't find receipt. So went and bought a new one. Then took broken one back with New receipt and got a full refund.
Also did a job in Leeds and realised I'd left me jigsaw at Home in Wales so bought a new one and took it back at end of week. told em missus had bought me it but I already had one. and got a full refund on that as well..

definately about 1 thou (off top of my head 7ths to 1.5 thou) top of piston is not as wide as bottom and you measure bottom of skirt at 90 degrees to gudgeon pin as piston is sligthly oval ,it becomes round as it expands getting to running temp,new pistons can vary by several thou, when engine is rebored it is done to piston supplied size ,dremel wont cut conrod but you can angle grind it with crank out which it needs to be if cutting or grinding inside engine case
yes built loads of them mostly because of rad faults pistons are designed that shape comes right during running temp ,but 10 thou is alot for a 2.25 petrol,in the olden days the rule of thumb was a thou per inch ,but modern design ands materials ,in fact 300 tdi is one of the easiest and well designed to rebuild £100 rebore leaving at least 1 thou honing to size £40 a piston £15 x 2 brearings £40 =new short motor,machine honing is vital not glaze busting with driull and set of stones
