right after a failed atempt of cutting the bottom of the con rod off. so, im going to drill the top of the piston on to the con rod and try and brake it off the piston.

do you think it will work?

No because the Gudgeon Pin is hardened steel If you start hammering chiseling etc.. You'll score the cylinder liner and then ya completely fooked.
 
how will it come out with the flywheel attached. would you not have to remove the gearbox first.

how come you couldnt get the bottom of the con rod? what technique did u use?

I triedto cut it like you said, but i only have a angle grinder and jnr hacksaw, both too big to get in to the small space. im just looking for a mini reciprocating saw online
 
the easiest method in my mind would be to turn the crank so the gudgeon section is to one side of the conrod then knock the piston down the barrel as far as itll go then saw the conrod off as close to the piston as possible then use a 2ft section of scaff tube underneith the piston with the conrod inside the scaff tube and use a bottle jack to lift the whole thing upwards to 1" below the top of the block then pour half a cup full of wd40 into the cylinder and leave it fer bout 1 hour then come back and jack the bugger right out the top of the cylinder slowly and carefully and it should come out no fuss

just get a new 12"hacksaw blade and put plenny of tape at one end for a handle making sure the teeth are facing the homemade handle and concentrate useing the n saw on the back stroke rather than forward youll get through it mate theyre only alloy
 
i dont want to knock it down too far, the rings will get stuck at the bottom of the bore and i wont be able to push it back up
 
your best bet would be a hacksaw blade holder try Irwin Mini Hacksaw 24Tpi 12" (300mm) from screw fix £7.48 plus get some spare blades. will take a while but cheaper in the end

piston will definately not come out of bottom ,you will have to remove gear box ,fly wheel housing ,flywheel brg caps crank etc and cut off with angle grinder,crank brg surface is very easy to damage and debris through cuttin or grinding ,better to save original piston if you can as its alreadt the right size and rings are run into bore ,if you do need new piston needs measuring accurately as size varies and there is supposed to be only around 1 thou clearance rings also need to be removed and gapped in bore if piston is replaced,any damage to bottom of bore as long as not cracked and isnt in the swept area of ringfs can be filed or ground back with dremel or such

im sure its supposed to be 10 thou clearance as 1 thou will sieze in the barrel but then again i could be wrong :D:D
