I'd put a years MOT on it.
If you think it'll pass no problem then do it, otherwise it looks like you're unsure, and that might may bidders unsure.
You could put some tax on it, and offer the tax disc for sale at cost price on top of the final price.
I've done that a few times before, I wouldn't expect road tax in a private sale....but I buy cheap cars!
Incidentally, what possible excuse can there be for not paying up? I'd love to hear what they say.
I had a mate who sold his Series 3 on eBay and the guy that won the bid turned up and then started haggling!
