I'd agree with wimminz on the front line, if the standards were not different for men and women. The US Marines have recently decided to allow women on the officer course, but only if they can pass the same course as men. The first batch of women all failed (some in the media have used this to **** on women), but so did about 40 other men of the 60 strong group of hopefuls.

The chart in front of me for British Army has different standards for men and women. Why?
The police removed hight requirements to let more women on the force. Why?

Why lower standards for "equality"? Keep the standards the same, that way we get true equality.

I don't have an issue with any job that requires strength & endurance having the same physical entry standards for both males and females BUT really not sure that height alone can be a physical quality that should be a standard- by all means if they can't run as fast, lift as much or restrain as effectively but not just some plain random height !

I've seen women psych nurses restrain waaaay better than a lot of their male colleagues - some of them mini things- tis all down to technique and confidence ( mind you I've also seen some cry and let go of an arm too tbf  )

It's about time you young whipper snappers put us old biffers in our place, let's have proper sexual equality, ban gender specific sport, no mens' and womens' 100 metres - just have the 100 metres - no female and male tennis, or boxing - let's have equality brothers! (and sisters) women on the front line? No problem - they're just as capable - why would you need gender categories in other endeavours? It's just plain sexism...

And the boxing ring? Don't think so....

It's not physical equality on it's own that is the be all and end all, a balance of base mentality must also be of underlying importance, both sexes think differently, and dare i say this, women tend to be smarter given the chance....

Thats NOT one for the sisters, but one for MY sisters.

I think there are plenty of females with so called male characteristics- aggression, competitiveness, spatial awareness etc etc and plenty of men with f"female " characteristics- compassion, empathy , emotional intelligence- I don't think that the two sexes as a whole think differently , I believe we're all on a spectrum of all behaviours which we construct into male or female qualities

Quite simply, the measurement,or at least the ratio differnce of three fingers determines that outcome,
it's fundamentally down to testosterone, women inclined to do male type jobs
generally have this measurement, blokes who don't measure up tend be compassionate types. Scientific fact.

I've said all I intend on certain aspects of conversation that this thread seems to have morphed into BUT (yep there's always a but) I would like to add a fact for the rest of you to discuss/disect/argue about, should you so desire : There is no such thing as a 'frontline' in the conflicts we have found ourselves involved in over the last five decades. The only thing that is guaranteed is that any soldier can find him/herself on a range where the targets shoot back ;)

Bix, sweetie, I have developed this dirty mind over 29yrs and I'm quite proud of it :D :p

It should be noted that enviromental factors play a key role, and i'm not talking about the weather...
Im talking about PMT

Pre-''minstrel''-tension;)
