For any of you TD5 owners who are still considering wether to check or change the oil pump bolt....
I have a Defender 1999 TD5 so today she was due an oil change and I previously bought all the parts so I went for it. No issues with sump removal a bit of jiggery to get the sump over the diff and the bolt......was tight but as others have reported NO thread lock was present. I replaced with new that had thread lock on it but I also ran some loctite 271 along the entire length of the thread and tightened to 25nm. Here is the removed bolt !!! Thanks to all the those that wrote the "how to." TS
