So the 11th December 2013, busily minding my own business and stopped at a roundabout I got rear ended by a BMW the driver of which was incredibly shocked to find I'd followed the rules of the great British roundabout and stopped!
Results in bent nas bumper and rear crossmember. And so begins the claim process.
Adrian flux don't have a claims department it gets farmed out to a claims company called ULR. Who then farmed me out to Accident Exchange, who promised in no uncertain terms 'you may use your garage for repairs.'
I got a quote from said garage and the 3rd party who had admitted liability refused labour costs.
So I trot back to ULR, 'please get a second quote to prove initial labour costs were not unreasonable'
Another day off work and another quote later. 3rd party refuse labour costs again.
So now I'm told by Accident Exchange unless I use one of their body shops they have a deal with they will drop my claim!
Again back to ULR I explain my situation and displeasure and that I will not be forced into a cheap and cheerful body shop, only to be told that my option is to claim on my own insurance and scuff up my no claims bonus!
Just in time for my insurance renewal of course!
Needless to say I bet the third party has replaced his 5series write off with a shiny new car while I am driving around with a steering wobble, bent chassis, fubarred wheel bearing.
Seriously disgusted with the whole affair!
Tried contacting Adrian flux direct only to be told their stance isn't much different!
Methinks a trip to CAB, watchdog! Or Rip off Britain next!
