I am planning a trip down to Morocco from the UK this year in October. I have a basic idea of the route we want to take, heading down through Meknes to Merzouga and then on down to Tagiunite through the desert. Then turning North to head though the Troda and Dedes gorges finishing in Ouarzazate, from there we will head to Marrakesh and then follow the Atlantic Coast road back to the port.
I have the Michelin Map of Morrocco and have Motionx and Heremaps as digital opensource maps of the area. Researching the topic everyone seems to rely on the olaf maps which as far as I am aware are only available for garmin and most of the posts online relating to these are now about 5 years old. Are there any other sources to digitally identify pistes through Morocco, preferably one that is not going to cost much (buying a garmin) and is compatible with either iphone/ipad, and possibly now one that is more up to date than olaf.
Or
Is it possible to download and run the olaf maps without having to purchase a garmin product , and use these for route planning and identifying the pistes and routes around the country.
