Ok so I have missed a load of this, but did spot my new bumper+ goodies.
Anyway.

To cut up a 1 of 15 makes no sense to me it’s value is in its rarity.
You have no workspace or tools to do what you are thinking (ability can be learnt) your welder mate will soon get fed up patching “your project”. To me expecting to do this on a drive or transport back and forth for somebody else to do paid work, will end in empty wallet and unfinished project.
You have been advised/reminded many times about major surgery and the pit falls.
A defender cab can be made to disco comfort without breaking any rules/regs and this could be done on a drive.
you seem to be going round in circles to try and circumnavigate the rules, or your knowledge/ability.
The defender build is more Lego like as lots of bits mix and match with no issue, the disco however isn’t so flexible.
Have you actually looked at the way a defender is built up onto the chassis as apposed to the disco?
I understand perhaps you want to put your own mark on your vehicle, but you would do better to buy as suggested above.
I know this may sound as if I am totally dissing your project/idea but I am not but you have to be a realist sometimes.
Anything is doable if you have a big enough wallet.
I own a 1 of 25, I would not sell to somebody who was going to cut it up to make it better.
Why not just put a roof tent+awnings on your present disco and enjoy.
