How do you adjust the pivot point?
I see there is a 13mm nut and washer that is tight up to the gear box but loosening or tightening these doesn't seem to do anything!

loosen the nut, this act as a locking nut and then turn the whole pivot point, it is threaded into the side of the gearbox.

remove the top and middle pin of the lever,pullout the way slacken the 13mm lock nut and wind the ye bolt pivot in or out till diff lock works both in and out fully ,you have to refit pins and try then remove and readjust etc as many times as needed
Thanks James, I now have diff lock engaging/disengaging by the selector lever.
 
Thanks to everyone for your help, I know it's been painful at times.
Unfortunately due to corvid 19 I've got loads of time on my hands and a defender that's due for some tlc.

Good news! Have you found the feed for the switch? Again from memory depending on the age there should be a bullet conector coming off the main loom along the chassis rail somewhere under the drivers seat which then has an extension on it to plug into the switch.

Yes I found the feed but the dash light isn't coming on. I will find my tester or use a bulb tomorrow to see if the feed is live. I did have a major loom accident a few years ago(It got tangled around the steering components) and a mate who is an electrician got everything working, but!!!!
