It took me a few days to realise that my 2002 L322 had delayed ignition, same as my Mercedes ML and other cars I have owned. Hop in, put key in ignition... stuff goes "click" and "clunk", turn key and release... the beast then thinks about it and starts at it's own leisure.... do other owners follow this procedure or just hop in and crank? Just interested, I assume the system gives the electronics time to work out if there is enough juice and that all the boxes are talking to each other? Ta mucho!

Hop in , key ignition turn to start engine turns over maybe once and starts, if I let go of key mid turn over engine stops no start, friends J--P does the turn key to start and let go, engine turns over till it starts.

? I'll have to have another look at my handbook, doesn't say anything about "turn and let go" but that's what mine does and seems happy doing it, wouldn't have thought it was a retrofit or option. The push start and keycard vehicles I have had all had remote start and I assumed it was standard on the L322?
